Dharma Friends

WHERE DHARMA MEETS FUN

Dharma Friends is a monthly community gathering hosted by Megan Mook and Kevin Townley. Each month features a specific Dharma theme with special guests including Buddhist teachers, artists, professors, comedians and musical guests.

DHARMA FRIENDS is a place for the Dharma to evolve and flourish here in the West. We hope to create a rich and varied tapestry, weaving together meditation, Dharma, art, music, embodiment and community.

“Deep, transformative, and joyous”

“The music moved me to tears”

“Kevin is a riot. So smart and so much fun”

“Megan’s meditations are simply awesome.”

Dharma Gates is thrilled to be partnering with Dharma Friends to create dharma gatherings for young adults. Through this partnership, Dharma Gates sponsors all young adults age 18-35 to attend Dharma Friends ticketed events. There are two distinct (but complementary) Dharma Friends offerings:

1) Once per month, Dharma Friends hosts a ticketed in-person gathering at Tibet House from 6:30PM - 8:30PM EST. These gatherings have live music, guests, art, and Dharma. If you cannot attend in person, it will be livestreamed via Zoom.

2) All of the other weeks (when not meeting at Tibet House), Dharma Friends hosts a free online Zoom meditation from 6:30PM - 7:15PM EST.

Themed Cycles - Dharma Friends events are grouped into themed cycles, allowing folks the time to go deep with specific Dharma themes and to develop corresponding practices.  The weekly online meditations are opportunities to deepen the practices that we introduce in-person, although you can come just to the online events and not be lost.
