Reclaim your time and attention.
In the modern era, our Buddhist practice must function within a society that is dependent upon smart phones, apps, the internet, screens and devices off all sorts. While there are still rare opportunities for one to throw all this away to just focus on meditation entirely, for most every modern Buddhist practitioner, there will be a necessary grappling and integration of technology use with our meditation practice.
This is not easy, and this is why this page exists. For most of us, without concerted awareness, mindfulness and firm boundaries, unnecessary addictive technology use will eat up weeks, months and years of our precious time in this life. Together we are stronger, and we can find away to prevent this from happening.
For now, From Love is our main resource we can refer you to, feel free to reach out always with any ideas you may have.
From Love
Years ago, during the beginning of the pandemic, Dharma Gates offered a “Digital Detox”, where a group of us worked together to build community, set goals, and set intentions related to taking back control of our technology use. The goal being to use technology and not be used by technology. Recently Dharma Gates founder Miles Bukiet worked to develop a compendium of resources, courses and a community at the intersection of compassion, gratitude and the war on attention: From Love.
From Love is a free resource, the core engine of which is a social network run by Mighty Networks. If it’s useful, we encourage you to join, make use of the available resources, participate in the community, and share with your friends or on social media.
